Sparks Ranch

"Sparks Ranch in Blue River"

Built in the late 1800s on the Old McKenzie Highway in Blue River, Spark’s Ranch was originally home to a hotel, ice cream parlor, and general store. In later years it became The Blue River Inn and in the early 60's it was remodeled as an apartment house.
The building still stands and may be the oldest structure in Blue River. There’s still a notch in the roof overhang to attest to the large trees shown in the painting that have long since been removed.
